This workshop is for the practicing photojournalist who has been shooting professionally for some time, currently using a digital camera. You must have the required knowledge of computers and should have worked with Adobe Photoshop to some extent.
The course is designed to help the professional photographer make optimum use of digital technology to capture 'decisive moments'.

• Exposure Index, long exposures and Noise
• Full frame vs. cropped. CCD vs. CMOS
• On location digital photography techniques, panoramic shots, etc.
• Flash photography techniques with digital camera
• Digital workflow: editing, histogram, levels / curves, retouching
camera dust, colour enhancing, interpolation, sharpening, archiving
• Colour management, RGB to CMYK, Channel mixing , conversion
to B&W
• E-mailing images effectively
• Digital camera handling and maintenance
Teaching Methodology
The workshop will be conducted at the Light & Life Academy, Digital Studio.
The faculty will have slide shows and demos and take participants through a step-by-step process in various areas. You will have to work on specific assignments and critique sessions will be conducted on a daily basis.
What to bring
Digital SLR camera and lenses, portable flash like the Vivitar 285, Compact Flash cards. A laptop with Photoshop loaded, will be useful (but optional). Cold weather clothing.
Enrollment
You should be a practising Photojournalist and must be working with a Digital SLR Camera.
