Kevin Goggin

Along with his commercial work, Kevin has produced a photographic project called, “On the Seen”.  The project is an exploration of the streets of New York City as Fashion.  The photographs take the everyday person, elevating them to the exotic, through use of techniques that Kevin learned in his years of work in the fashion industry as both photographer and retoucher. The images are meditations on the concentration of media images (both advertising and fashion,) that bombard people daily.

Finally, Kevin spends time teaching photography and digital imaging, both in seminars and one on one tutoring.  He is also involved in a project called VisuaLife, which is a program for at-risk youth within the foster care system, designed to introduce them to the unique rewards of leading a visual life through photography.  Through a series of instructions, lectures, dialogues, and activities, students are taught the basics of digital photography, artistic vision, and the visual rendering of an idea.  Students are encouraged not only to look at the world around them, but also to see beyond the surface and express their reactions with a unique voice. read more
